Lacewing

The first I saw ye
fleein lik ye waanted tae be ate,
a faery-wecht
grammlin i the licht,
I scooped ye
fae oot the growthie air –
a craitur sae weird
by wir ain wee burn.

Ye were at quate sae lang
I thocht ye’d ever bide,
an when ye went
it wis wi sic a glintin flit
I gey near cried ye
Luck.
